Rachel Ray is a known cook. Her specialty is the 30 minutes recipes. Her phenomenon for dieting is simple - 'Do not diet, just live healthy.' On these lines, her recommendation to weight loss in her latest show was - the dynamic duo diet of colon cleansing & acai berry.

Incidentally, this is the hot choice for another talk show host, Oprah Winfrey as well. Rachel recently featured many medical experts on her show talking more about this duo. These were the known dermatologist Dr. Nicholas Perricone and famous cardiac surgeon Dr. Mehmet Oz. Here are the important tips she suggested by these experts on the show:

Acai berry grows on the acai palm trees in the rain forests at Brazil. It is a dark colored grape like fruit that is rated as the No. 1 Super Food by many health experts. Its key components are minerals, anti-oxidants, fibers, vitamins, etc. It reduces your stored fats, controls the appetite & detoxifies the colon & the bowel area. Before opting to go for its supplements take care of the following:

- It must be freeze dried, not spray dried.
- The berries must be treated with in 24 hours from when they are collected from the palm trees.
- Read its components carefully. Make sure it contains nothing that is allergic to you.

Colon cleansing aims to detoxify the colon & bowel area. It keeps your digestion smooth. It reduces your weight within a few weeks. But here are the points to understand prior to getting in to this diet:

- You must not take this before 18 years of age.
- You must not be pregnant.
- Go for a free trial first.

Some interesting inputs from Rachel in this diet are as follows:

- Do not eat when you are not hungry.
- Do not miss your meals.
- Drink lots of water.
- Exercise for at least 30 minutes daily.
- Eat lots of raw fruits & vegetables in the form of salads & juices.

Facts to consider before opting for Free trial -

- Opt for trails which allow at least 14 days
- The Dosage should be followed
- Make sure the acai berry supplements contain pulp only

Soul Food Recipes - 3 Golden Rules of Preparation

Soul Food Recipes - 3 Golden Rules of Preparation

ItemTitle

Soul food recipes have a reputation of being simple but not always easy. There's a unique difference. With practice and patience most people can master the average soul food recipe. The problems mount when you mistake a simple recipe as an easy recipe. This usually results in taking an ingredient, cooking technique or method for granted.

Before you take on any recipe, make sure you understand what cooking technique you must apply, what cooking tools and equipment you'll need and what ingredients the recipe calls for.

The sound of "what happened" comes from the lips of most would-be cooks who thought skipping what they thought was a small and not so important step the recipe called for. This is an obvious golden rule to remember. But there are 3 golden rules to having success with soul food recipes. I'll cover them here.

1. Thou Shall Make A Shopping List

This is a simple actions many people neglect to do. Research has proven people who use a shopping list save 10 - 45% more money and save almost twice as much time shopping than those who don't. This doesn't count having to go back to the store because you forgot something important the recipe called for.

2. Thou Shall Learn The Language Of Recipes

Or at least keep a good dictionary close by. There's an old saying that if you can read you can cook. That's saying is partially true, but not completely true. A more accurate saying is If you can understand the language of recipes you can cook. You have to know the difference between searing, braising and roasting, if not your result will turn out different than you planned.

3. Thou Shall Learn From Thy Mistakes

This is one of the most important golden rules of all. Why? Because every cook makes mistakes even the worlds best. The difference between a good cook and a bad cook is the good one's took the time to learn from there mistakes. Notice I said take the time to learn from their mistakes. When you burn , overcook, undercook or goof up a recipe, the first impulse is to throw your hand up in despair and quit. But the key hear is to retrace your steps, find out what you didn't do and try it again.

If you take the time to follow these simple golden rules I can't promise you'll end the next Rachel Ray, Emeril Lagasse or host your own cooking show. But I can promise you'll improve your soul food recipe cooking successes.

Guest Stars on Friends - One Of My Favourites Has To Be Brad Pitt Starring As Will Colbert

Guest Stars on Friends - One Of My Favourites Has To Be Brad Pitt Starring As Will Colbert

There have been many guest stars on Friends over the years, and I guess as the hit show got bigger so did the special guest stars. However, amongst the various famous faces to appear on one of TV's biggest shows, one of my all time favourites has to be Brad Pitt, who starred as Will Colbert. Brad, of course, ended up dating, and then marrying Rachel aka Jennifer Aniston, but do you recall this hilarious guest on Friends?

Guest Stars on Friends - One Of My Favourites Has To Be Brad Pitt Starring As Will Colbert

Will was Ross's fat friend from school who co-founded the "I hate Rachel Green club". The only other member was the exchange student from Thailand, although Takia didn't seem to know much about it. Monica also had a soft spot for Will as she was known as his thin friend whilst at school. Will's hatred for Rachel seems to stem from the fact that he was an unpopular fat kid, whereas she was an extremely popular cheerleader, and thus made his life hell.

It wasn't until years later, when Will had lost over 180 pounds and was the smouldering and sexy guest who visited for Thanksgiving, that Rachel finally noticed him. It's a hilarious turn of events at the Thanksgiving dinner, and there are numerous references made about Will's stunning good looks - my favourite of which has to be Chandler Mentioning that he thinks it would be better for his ego if him and Will did not stand next to each other.

During the dinner, accounts of the past slowly unravel. Firstly, we discover that the I hate Rachel Green club started a rumour that Rachel was a hermaphrodite cheerleader from Long Island. Possibly even funnier was the fact that Ross had a secret fling with the school's 50-year-old librarian, Miss Altman! Unfortunately, Will also reveals that the Thai exchange student had a similar liaison with Miss Altman.

Brad Pitt's appearance as one of the many guest stars on Friends tells us exactly how big the show about six New Yorkers actually got. In fact, I would imagine that Brad was the biggest Hollywood draw at that moMent in time. However, the producers of the show used Brad's looks as a source of fun and hilarity. The fact that Phoebe spends the whole episode trying to get Will to take off his shirt is an equal cause of amuseMent. Of course, Phoebe finally gets her way, well sort of, when she hugs Will as opposed to giving a high five. Obviously, Phoebe let us now it was just how she imagined it would be.

Throwing The Baby Out

Throwing The Baby Out

I have to plead guilty to having been one of those who decried the little black Dress or LBD's as they were dubbed by the masses and I would avoid them like the plague for a Party thinking they were downright dull and boring.

Throwing The Baby Out

Throwing The Baby Out

Throwing The Baby Out

Throwing The Baby Out

But you know what, I have been casting around with some of the new designers and there are some stunning new arrivals to delight the eye and I'm going to add them again to my Party roster.

In fact I have been tempted to have more of them than anything else in the quiver. I guess the trouble was that we all succumbed to the general malaise of expecting the LBD's to fit a preconceived notion of young married becoming very young matron not wearing anything non-traditional or daring or even chic.

Well phooey to that. How outdated can youget?

I'll cite some terrific examples of what I mean. Try Jenni Kayne for instance. She has a Tie Tank at ShopBop for $ 250 and it's a little charmer. Tunic tank in soft silk with a ruched neckline, surged hem and side detail. Contrast straps tie at shoulders. It's deceptively simple, thigh high which really appeals to me and I can't wait to take it to the next event.

Or how about Sari Gueron's Lace Jacket with Flower Detail? It's a short-sleeved jacket in cotton lace with Teo yvelaze, flower, and feather detail and a silk-chiffon lining. It's also good and short and just a bit more pricey at $ 899. oh well! You can't have everything!

A couple more for good measure? OK This one's a rocket. Rachel Roy's Raz Tunic Dress. This is a shift with a delicatesheen. Appliqué and metallic stitching detail. Front zip pockets. The exposed back zip is outlined on red seam which stands out and screams. This one will definitely get the tongues wagging! It's $ 1,095

And last but not least. And I'm going to cheat! It's not a LBD! But rather a gorgeous Open Back Dress by Thakoon. Fine-knit sweater Dress in a soft wool blend. Ribbed band at scoop back. Elastic waistband and ribbed edges. It's a beautiful rich Royal Blue. Btw price is $ 1,095 and worth every penny. The back is to die for. Just look and tell me it's not the living end!

Rachel Ray's 2009 Diet-Acai Berry and Colon Cleanse Diet For Weight Loss

Rachel Ray's 2009 Diet-Acai Berry and Colon Cleanse Diet For Weight Loss

One of the most talked about diets for 2009 is the acai berry and colon cleanse combo. First seen on Rachel Ray and Oprah Winfrey, the acai berry was reported as the # 1 superFood by Dr. Mehmet Oz. With all the exciteMent about this new diet wonder I had to try it.

Rachel Ray's 2009 Diet-Acai Berry and Colon Cleanse Diet For Weight Loss

Acai Berry is grown and harvested in the rain forests of South America. It is just loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, and fat burning properties. As a mother who has two kinds and doesn't have time for the gym, using a diet that's Fast and easy is just what I needed.

Here's what makes the Acai Berry and Colon Cleanse diet so good:

It reduces your appetite and Food cravings It kicks up your metabolism so you burn more fat It detoxifies the body and flushes out toxins Boost energylevels so you don't feel Tired It flattens your tummy as you lose weight Makes your skin and hAir look vibrant and healthy

I was initially a little scared of taking a colon cleanser ... it just sounded so dirty. The truth of the matter is, it was totally easy and gentle on my body. Colon cleansing detoxifies your intestinal tract, which can get clogged up with excess waste and fecal matter. This reduces the risk of colon cancer and other nasty health risks associated with an unhealthy colon.

By combining Acai Berry and Colon Cleansing, I was able to lose over 5 lbs in the first week. I wasn't even religious about and still I munched on on some sweets and junk Food. This just goes to show how powerful this dynamic duo really is!

Chefography

Chefography

Feeling mostly insulted by what is on the TV-I have severely limited my time and relationship with the tube.

Chefography

Chefography

Chefography

Chefography

Chefography

I have restricted my connection to its programming to the Food Channel and my daily dose of Voyager. Even with this limited access I have found myself in a box that is closing in on me.

The Food channel is running a series of autobiographies about their star chefs called "chefographies." I have been Watching this series faithfully because I find it so uplifting. The networks chefs have such motivating and inspirational stories to tell. Some of the stories bring tears to my eyes. Looking at their successes today-it is hard to imagine some of them were troubled kids with no ambition, motivation or inclination to a Cooking career or anything else. Some of these super stars where school drop outs with poor social or academic skills.

Today's episode was about Rachel Ray. Rachel's story may not have the same drama as the others, but her dedication and passion for Cooking is the same. The amazing thing about her is the amount of time she spends Cooking and being involved with other related or unrelated activities. The narrator of today's episode claimed her as the hardest working television star today.

Truly Rachel personifies the true meaning of life and that is to experience all things physical-to keep moving in different directions. Rachel is constantly moving out of the box and doing things that she knows as fun, and this includes many new adventures not related to cooking.

I am amazed with Rachel and the other cooks and what they have done. They have given-up, started over, quit again, and come back to be very successful at what they do. Their shows may last only a season or several, but they always have something going, they keep bouncing back.

Being in the box is so easy to do, and even if you manage to get out of the box it sneaks up on you, and you can find yourself back without even realizing it. It takes effort to stay out of the box until it becomes a habit and even then it becomes a different kind of a box.

The caption at the bottom of my site's logo reads "Outside the Box." Many of the articles I have written about over the years have been about the importance of being out of the box, and yet I find myself there often. It is a gentle slippery slop that sucks me in.

Although the box feels comfortable and I can find many good reasons for being there-it is actually working against me. I can justify my time in the box by telling myself that my web site needs me, and I need to get these articles published. My books take up time and I have set deadlines to have them published. I have put together web courses and physical workshops that are not completed and these things are all important. But mostly what I feel right now is frustration, suffocation, and entrapMent. Even though I am enjoying success, the walls are closing in on me. The thing most frustrating is I know better, it is what I write about and teach.

From experience I know how important it is to get away from what you are doing on occasion, to recharge and refresh. Being focused on the physical body adds weight to it and it loads you down and makes you sick. Change for many of us comes when we draw a major upsetting event into our lives, and because we do not take control of our lives consciously, we manifest on a subconscious level. It is usually experienced as illness, accidents, or death-our own, or someone that is close to us.

There is no life in the box, only routine as the needle on a record player may skip back and forth between the same grooves. And for most of us, we feel helpless to change it. We have made ourselves indispensable in our Jobs and personal relationships. Poor long term planning has given way to desperation and responsibility-we are trapped by the one who would not be trapped. Guilt, fear, and responsibility make up the links of the chain that anchor us to the box-is there not way out?

The first step in getting out of the box is to know that you are in one-sounds obvious? Most people are not aware of the boxes they find themselves in. The second step is to make a determination to get out no matter what excuses you may come up with that would keep you there. The third step can be done in small or large steps-get out!

If you are fraught with many obligations, personal or career and you want to be gentle about how you affect others-then you may want to do it in small steps. The very first thing to do to get out of the box is to do something different, and then something else, and something else after that. Keep doing it until you become aware that you have moved out of the box. Unless you have planned well and included others that are part of your relationships-there is going to be opposition. You're going to be leaving others behind unless they completely support you. People don't like to be left behind and they will try to stop you especially those closest to you or those who would depend upon you.

You have to remember that you are doing this for yourself because you have died or are dying inside. You have nothing to give anymore except your physical support. But there is more to life than that. The feelings that you have are valid, they are real and they are affecting your happiness. If you have nothing-you have nothing to give of yourself to anyone-why bother? Your family may not like it, and rightly so, but unless they support you, they may loose you altogether-either by illness, accident or escape.

Escaping the box will not set you free unless you remain vigilant of how easy it is to slip back into the old box or create a new one. Remember the very meaning of life is moveMent-life is constantly moving to higher levels or self improveMent-chasing your tail is not life if it does not take you were you want to go.

Some people may feel content in the box, but contentment is not happiness-it is a compromise. There is nothing wrong with contentment if it is what you wish to experience. However, if you are hearing those voices and feeling restless-you have compromised. If contentment is all you are feeling-in time you will not recognize it-it will turn into something else or you will feel nothing.

Without knowing it, something as benign as a cooking show can wake you up to the fact that it is time to move on. Although everything shall continue-my books and articles will be published, and the webs sites will go on, but something personal has to change. Now that I have been alerted-it simply is a matter of noticing the choices which will come my way, and making the correct one.

The secret ingredient for change is passion-passion for what it is you want to do-that draws energy from you and others. It is the fuel that will propel you to success and keep you out of the box. Passion always looks for an outlet. People who are successful in their lives have passion for life and it is demonstrated in what they create.

Chefography is Lifeography!

Oprah, Dr Phil, Rachael Ray Give Away Shows - A Blessing?

Oprah, Dr Phil, Rachael Ray Give Away Shows - A Blessing?

This is the season for Harpo "Christmas Give Away" Shows. Today it was Dr Phil and his family giving away oodles of gifts to an audience filled with disenfranchised California Fire families. I always Watch these shows thinking the same thing:

Are these shows really blessing these poor people?

If I had lost my home to Katrina or California fires, or any other catastrophe, what would be my biggest need? Would it be a huge Lcd HD TV, or the latest Camcorder? If I don't have a house to live in, what am I going to do with this huge television?

I was on a television show once and was "blessed" with a wonderful Conn organ. It was three layers of push a button and get a trumpet section; push another button and get a harpsichord sound. Since I am a musician, it was a wonderful gift ... until April 15th! I knew nothing about "gift tax" so was totally unprepared for the additional money I was told I owed IRS. It didn't take any time at all for that organ to turn into my worst nightmare!

Harpo (Oprah spelled backwards) Productions gets big ratings boosts for every "give away" show they put on the Air. Doesn't matter if it's The Oprah Show, Dr Phil Show, or The Rachael Ray Show. All of the manic screaming and distorted faces thrill their television audience, and these celebrities come off looking like Santa Claus himself. They are also a great time for participating companies to get FREE advertising and, hopefully, increased sales in the last month of the year.

I picture these people going back to where ever they're living temporarily, loaded down with thousands of Dollars' worth of posh items they would have never bought before the catastrophe took their homes. A cell phone from ATT with two months' free service? What happens after the two months are up? Expensive bath products to use, even though they may not have a bathtub of their own?

Well, you say, they could give the gifts away as Christmas presents! OK, then who will be responsible for the gift tax? Remember, these audience members' names and social security numbers are on file for IRS to come after! They don't leave the studios without giving out that information!

When Oprah started her 19th season, she wowed the world by giving away new "fully-loaded" Pontiac G-6 midsize 2005 sports sedan to each of the 276 members of the studio audience. What caught the eye of Michael Kirsch (Notre Dame) was this stateMent by a spokesperson for Pontiac (which donated the cars) in an AP story: "Pontiac will pay for the taxes."

What "taxes" was Pontiac talking about? If federal income taxes, how would Pontiac value the car? Presumably it would be valued at something less than the ,400 MSRP, but how much less? How would Pontiac figure out the appropriate tax rate for each individual audience member?

After much discussion it was ascertained that Pontiac would pay only the sales tax for each car, not the federal gift tax! Wow! What a big surprise each of those 276 families had on April 15th! They owed ,000 - ,000 extra federal tax, depending on their individual tax brackets.

I'd like to see a Christmas Give Away Show where Food, Clothes, toys for the kids, and money for apartMent rent and utilities given to these poor people! You know, like on Extreme Home Makeover where a mortgage company representative hands the new home owners a stateMent saying their home is paid for?

Naw, I guess that wouldn't work. Wouldn't be glitzy enough for all of us to Watch. It wouldn't give all of these companies a chance to wow us with their chosen high-end Christmas gifts. It just wouldn't be "good TV".

Rachel Ray's Diet - Is the Rachel Ray Flat Belly Diet Any Good?

Rachel Ray's Diet - Is the Rachel Ray Flat Belly Diet Any Good?

You've probably heard an awful lot of hype surrounding Rachel Ray's Diet, also known as the flat belly diet that can supposedly help to drop 25 pounds in 3 weeks. Find out in this article exactly what is the flat belly diet and whether its worth your time even looking into.

Rachel Ray's Flat Belly Diet Any Good?

This diet's main focus in on a high consumption of monounsaturated fatty acids, otherwise known as MUFAs. These beneficial Fast are not absorbed into the body as other fats and are primarily flushed out of the body, although they do make you feel full when eaten, that's the claim at least. The diet is limited to only 1600 calories per day so it doesn't let you eating a whole let. Especially when you consider that many Foods containing MUFAs are very high in calories ironically, although the calories technically do not add up in the same way a high carb calorie Food would for example. Still this makes it seems quite odd.

This diet has a promising list of foods that are accepted such as fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean meats. However with each meal some form of MUFAs are meant to be consumed. This can become somewhat Tiresome to consume the same types of foods every day but this is what they claim works.

So What's the Downside?

The biggest flaw in this diet is its repetitive use of MUFA high foods with a low calorie diet, ironically enough its biggest selling point. You see when you consume the same foods every day and to go one step further as a low calorie diet, you basically set yourself up for trouble when you finish. You see diets such as this one will lower your metabolism to match the calories consumed every day. Once you finish the diet you need to be careful of what you eat for at least a month as your body will be ready to store any calories you consume as fat.

How Can I Avoid This?

The best suggestion I can make for you is to either stick with the diet for good and not increase your calories or try a diet that instead focuses on boosting your metabolism such as calorie shifting. You see with any diet that requires low calories you will end up gaining some weight back when you finish. This is not true however with calorie shifting as by focuses on raising your metabolism through eating foods you actually continue to burn fat even once you finish the diet. Best of all you get to eat a wide variety of foods and requires 3 complete meals every day, it's a enTirely unique diet in this way.

Overview Rachel Roy Dress

Overview Rachel Roy Dress

Kayne West so call collection was tragic , clearly he only knows how to dress skanky hoes for his video clips. I bet the fashion industry will not write any criticism about him and will suck up his ass like they do with Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs (why do people not see him ripping Prada off seasons after seasons?).

Label Overview

Rachel Roy turned an internship at Rocawear into a classic-leaning, feminine clothing line that’s respected by critics and a favorite of celebrity stylistas. Roy launched the line in 2004 and has since expanded to full ready-to-wear and resort collections. Her uptown predilections are evident in every tailored skirt, embellished dress, and subtly sexy blouse. With a new venture into handbags, a diffusion line in the works, and plans to go global, Roy is arguably ambitious—and she might prove to be one of fashion’s few success stories.
